The problem
Everyday money decisions are frequent, emotionally real, financially meaningful, and poorly served by existing products. Finance blogs explain topics but don't create workflows. Standalone calculators produce one-time answers but don't preserve continuity. Budgeting apps require too much setup for users who only want decision clarity. Advisors are too expensive or high-friction for routine questions. There's a gap, and that's the gap Aplomia exists to fill.
What Aplomia is
A free, neutral, plain-language place to work through specific money questions: What do I actually keep from my paycheck? How long until this debt is gone? Where is my monthly money going?
Every tool starts with your actual inputs, shows you the math, explains the result in plain English, and tells you where the numbers come from. Over time, we'll add the ability to save scenarios, revisit decisions, and build a connected decision environment.
What Aplomia isn't
We are not a financial advisor, planner, lender, broker, or tax advisor. We are not a budgeting app. We are not a robo-advisor. We don't make recommendations or tell you what to do — we show you the numbers and explain them.
We also don't link to your bank accounts, ask for your Social Security number, or store sensitive identity information. The architecture is deliberately narrow.
How we make money
Aplomia is free today. Over time, Aplomia may earn money in three ways:
- Affiliate relationships with financial products you might want to compare. Always labeled. Never affects tool math.
- User-controlled offer placements — you tell us which categories you're open to seeing, and we only show offers in those categories.
- Future paid privacy and protection features for users who want a tighter information posture.
We will never sell user data. We will never accept incentives that change tool results or scenario interpretation. If we're ever asked to, we'll publish that we declined.
